To live now for a tomorrow.
To carry a sacred debt and graduate into a vocation of restraint and surrender.

To cultivate worship, to chase signs, to live attentive to the tolling of bells.

To impose upon oneself strict principles, and emotional scourges.
To live with wounds that reinvent themselves each day—between passion and fanaticism.

To abandon planets, stars, the cycles of nature, lightning and thunder.
And to believe in celestial beings, divine powers, Saints, Virgins, and deities, almost always clothed in sunlight and in color.

To believe more than to think.
To profess more than to know.
And even so, to hold certainties.

For devotion is also hope, promise, and trust.

To seek the purification of the heart, direct contact with the Creator, and the incarnation of divine love.

To transcend…
each through their own understanding,
each in their own way.
